For an outstanding Big Island golf experience, the Beach Course truly has it all: an interesting mix of challenging holes with birdie opportunities, spectacular scenery and a layout strategic enough to challenge the pros, while gentle enough to allow even the casual player an enjoyable day on the course. Don’t forget your camera!

The Beach Course is a study in color and contrast, its wide swaths of emerald-green boldly marked by unforgiving black lava, splashed with unabashed tropical flowers and bordered by the beautiful blues of lakes and vast Pacific.

Beach Course Signature Hole:

E3 7th_hole_beach_courseThe magnificent 7th is one of the most photographed holes in Big Island golf, one that demands even the most competitive golfer to pause and appreciate the sense of place. The 7th green sits on a lava peninsula, framed by a sweet curve of coconut palms, while waves crash on the rocks below to send sea spray billowing into the air. In whale season, you may spot the splash of humpback whales as they breech and slap the surface, or spinner dolphins playing just offshore.

Sunday November 1: Just enjoy yourself golfing at the Kings’ Course

Tee Time: 1:00 PM Shotgun format

Carved into rugged lava fields from ancient flows, the Kings’ Course has been called a surreal golf experience. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish to demand respect and deliver reward, the Kings’ Course is truly a strategic player’s course, challenging mind, body and spirit.

The Kings’ Course demands respect and delivers reward. The Kings’ Course is truly a player’s course. It’s got the length, the strategic punishment or rewards and the ever-present trade winds to protect par. Yet, surprisingly enough it’s truly a player’s course, one that demands respect and delivers reward for every golfer, with the right mix of tough challenge and exciting play for a great day of golf.

Kings’ Course Signature Hole:

kings-course-signature-holeThe picturesque but devious 5th hole is a very short par four, where the wind plays a part, ally or enemy. Choose to go for the green and a chance at the elusive eagle, and a fickle tropical breeze could decide to guide the ball into the large lava field down the middle. But once reached the view from that elevated green is magnificent — with vast lava “moonscape” as far as the eye can see.
