Welcome to your

GOVERNOR ELECT TRAINING SEMINAR (GETS)

November 10 – 13, 2014.

You will soon embark on one of the most exciting and rewarding tasks of your lifetime as you serve Rotary as a district governor.  Your role will be to provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to the clubs in your district. You will work under the general guidance of the RI Board of Directors. The regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, the Rotary coordinator, and the Rotary public image coordinator are your support team.

Rotary International relies on its district governors to sustain and increase the organization’s success by fostering achievements at the club level. You can prepare for a productive and successful term as governor by developing goals, carefully planning your year’s activities, and motivating and involving others to support and strengthen clubs, increase humanitarian service, and enhance Rotary’s public image.

The Governor Elect Training Seminar sessions lay the foundation for the International Assembly which you will attend early in 2015 with your class mates from all over the Rotary world. Training at GETS will include an exchange of information and ideas, case studies, group exercises, best practices, and updates on Rotary programs.

Your Governor Elect Training Seminar begins at 8:00 A.M. on Monday, November 10, 2014.  Registration will be the day before from 3.00 P.M. to 7.00 P.M.  Registration will open on July 1, 2014 on DACdb.  You will register for your training, meals and partner meals (if applicable).  Questions regarding registration can be directed to Claire Little at pdgclaire@gmail.com.

Your dedicated team of instructors and speakers has been working very hard for many months to make this an informative and fun-filled experience for you. The seminar is packed with practical exercises and ideas to help you develop the skills, knowledge, and motivation to support the clubs in your district.

Since your selection as District Governor Nominee Designate you have attended many meetings and training sessions. You are now approaching the conclusion of this training and will be “putting the rubber to the road” on July 1, 2015.

Congratulations and best wishes as you enter the final preparation stages for your role as District Governor!
